The Hub, Attends the Eddie Hall Event

News and Stories by Nino Severino

As creator and founder of The Hub, I am very luck to be invited to some very interesting sporting events, including the Ambassador for Muhdo, Eddie Hall, presenting at The Suffolk University. As you can see from the image below, Eddie is a giant of a man, and the member of his support team was not much smaller!

Listening to Eddie present, it was very clear, he is an extremely intelligent man, with an impressive depth and knowledge of training methods and principles. He delivered his knowledge across sports science and physiology with the skill of a seasoned athlete, who clearly invested in educating himself across these subject areas. It was a joy to absorb his views, attitudes, and thoughts regarding his sporting experiences, and how they have affected his life.

Eddie was born on 15 January 1988 and has made a very good living as a media personality. One of his most outstanding achievements was his world-record lift of 500kg in 2016. He is also well known for winning the title of The World’s strongest Man in 2017. As well as winning the global title, Eddie also won England, Britain’s, and UK Strongest Man titles numerous of times.

He then transitioned into the sport of boxing, fighting fellow World’s Strongest Man winner Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, unfortunately he would not taste victory in this gladiatorial encounter. Eddie has used his skills of presenting during his own television series called Eddie Eats America, this was a very intelligent career move as his personality lends itself very well to this presenting role.

It was interesting to hear that Eddie was born in Newcastle-under-Lyme, and that during his younger years he was a competitive swimmer, reaching National standard.

Even more impressive, during the 2001 UK National swimming competition he achieved four golds, one silver, and during the competition setting two British records. It was very interesting to hear the history of this incredible athlete, and how his informative years were spent in a sport that was very different to the sport he gained global recognition in.
